Let Me Put My Face On

A fashion journalist from Harper's Bazaar Singapore asked me to be a beauty judge for their upcoming Beauty Awards.  I was assigned to test out face products, mainly foundations and pressed powders.  There was a total of fourteen products to try out and to my surprise I personally liked a couple of the finishing results.

HITS: My favorite pressed powder was the Revlon's PhotoReady Two Way Powder Foundation in 006 Medium Beige.  I was pleasantly surprised at this drugstore product as it is inexpensive, has a clean sleek packaging and a great finish.  The powder contains a certain amount of coverage and mattifies the skin without leaving it flakey or cakey.

Lancôme's Paris Maqui Blanc Miracle in O-02 is also a good mattifying pressed powder.

The drugstore products in this batch of products continue to astonish me.  The L'Oréal Paris True Match Super-blendable Foundation in G3 Golden Beige presents a very flawless finish, medium coverage and for a great price.  The finishing is smooth and it lives up to its 'super-blendable' name.  This foundation is a considerable alternative for a more inexpensive product.

Other great items I stumbled upon were the RMK's Smoothing Polish Base, great for a base and to fill-in any pores, especially around the nose area.  This is an excellent product to use before applying any foundation.

For those with naturally amazing skin, the Benefit's some kind-a gorgeous in lite and Clinique's Supermoisture Cream Compact Makeup is ideal for a sheer, light coverage and natural finish. These bases are extremely creamy, creating an easy glide-on against the skin.

MISS: The most disappointing products I found were Vichy's Laboratoires Aera Teint Pure Skin Breathing Fluid Foundation in 20 Light Ocre and Kate's Mineral Liquid Foundation in OC-B.  These products claim to have a lighter feel and a sheer, natural coverage and finish.  However, they seem to apply less flawlessly and rather thicker than they claim to be.  The texture was quite heavy and concentrated - thus, prone to cakey, heavy and uncomfortable results.
